Enter the Job Jar!
Every start up gets to the point where as I have learned from my english relations that they need to “take the finger out” and do it.
For us that means getting jobs.
Enter the Job Jar.

The idea each job we get for a worker, a marble goes into the jar!
So it has begun: October 10 – 2009, Marble # = 0

Great Alpha Test Feedback!

Thank you to all of you who went to our site mockup and gave us feedback.
Besides fixing the normal spelling errors, we got some great feedback on the general look and feel. We are droping the photos behind the menu bar and are adding a FAQ section and a How it Works Diagram.
Below is some of the feedback so you can see what others said.
Thanks so much for your help!

1. Having pictures may lead to some form of discrimination.
2. What if it’s a list view rather than this “name card” view?
3. Maybe each person has a special ability / preference of work.
4. Maybe look at the way zipcars are rented. They have this timeline thing to show when each car is available. Then there’s a map view, which could be appropriate for locating someone near your home.
5. The countdown clock doesn’t seem to help me make my decision.

In pictures of crew, I would experiment with having a direct frontal flash and not having one. It might be that some photos look more like mug shots. Another element is body language. It turns out that tilting your head looks a little submissive, and that might convey a sense of safety to employers. No need to ask workers to pose, but if you have multiple photographs of each, those might be a helpful choice in some cases.

not sure what ‘team member’ means but i’m sure i could learn fast
and i’m assuming avg time to job reflects his distance from me- so it is the time to get here? not the time to do the job, right?
do you need seconds they are available? really?

For a new person nervous about hiring part time labor the site needs to be
REALLY SIMPLE. Almost “what do you want to do? Pick one of these three
things: house cleaning, gardening, general labor.”
TICTASKS.COM is TOO BIG! Make it small, at the bottom.
